I've been using Madelaine's Crystal 50 in 25 ct. box at home about two years and I love it.
My Avallo-2000 uses an automatic, digitally controlled system that I purchased with the humidor. I am very happy with that.

I would recommend the same for anyone who has a larger humidor. But, I am only familiar with this particular system.
I have one small humi and one medium humi. I made my own credo with oasis florists foam and a couple of soap containers. 50/50 solution and they stay near perfect all the time, even with the high humidity down here int here south.
right now just using regular humidifiers with the faom but am looking into getting something different. They work okay but we have really low humidity and really high temps here most of the time so need something a little more consistent.
I keep mine at optimal conditions with a gel jar.My other cigar boxes that I use as humidors I use either the little black humidity discs or a humi packet, and keep refreshing them as needed
I use Boveda Packs. Have an account with auto ship every 2 months so I never have to worry about my humidors.
I buy wet type florist foam from the craft store and propylene glycol from the pharmacy at WalMart and I mix it with distilled water at 50/50. Works like a charm.
I have only used the Oasis w/ PG. I would like to try the Heartfelt beads, but I have yet to order them. The Oasis has never given me any problems, if it isn't broke don't fix it.
I use a mixture of these. I have 2 55 quart coolers in the basement with a green floral foam in a tupperware dish. these coolers take care of themselves, a few times a year I dose the foam with a 50/50 mix and there good to go. Dont even need a Hydrometer in the coolers, just feel.

Where I have more issues is with the 3 Humi's I have in the main floor of my house. I add those containers of gell beads along with the foam allready in place. In winter I add a Boveda to make sure.
