I've always been a big fan of Busch Light beer. Raised in central Ohio....that's just what we drank! Not to mention...one of (if not the only) all American brewing companies left in the country. Now I feel a little betrayed. I'm now drinking Coor's Light in boycott. What in the hell is this country coming to?

In my opinion, this was in the works for quite a while. In about a 5 week period stock went from around $50 to $70. A lot of people made alot of money. I just don't like the fake, lame attempt by A-B to make it look like they didn't want this to happen. I think it was planned for years. Yes, I am a conspiracy theorist. Just like the theme of any "B" murder myster... follow the money trail.

I agree with mmk, this country is a service industry country. Call Dell when "buying", and you get an American, call for customer service sfter the fact and your talking to a goat -milking foreigner who's paid with goat cheese and has a garage door opener in their forehead.
OK I may come off like a dick with this response but...really does it matter. Anheuser-Busch was started by German immigrants, before it became the watered down beverage that America has come to know and love it was a heavy German brew. What does it matter who makes it. 90% of the items we use daily are manufacured out side of the US. Hell many Ford and Chevy car parts are made outside of the US. I am former active duty Army (9 yrs), have been in the National Guard for just over seven years, and am a government contractor supporting DHS so I would concider myself a patriot, but let's get passed this thing that if it isn't made here then it's no good...are we really that arrogant. Just my thoughts, plus why cry over Bud when you can drink Guiness
The problem with selling everything off to foreign companys and not making it ourselves is that we are dependent on foreign product and subject to their wims [ie price increases, poor quality, etc...]. Just look at where that has gotten us depending on foreign oil. I to am a military vet, having served in the Air Force and fought during Desert Shield / Storm. But you don't have to be in the military to be a Patriot. Patriotism, for me, is belief and support for our country and our way of life. I don't like seeing it piece-mealed and sold off to the highest bidder. The rest of the world is kicking our ass in manufacturing and new technologies. If we fall too far behind, we may not recover and our way of life will be gone. We need to take a lesson from our fore-fathers and be that country again that supports itself and doesn't rely on anyone else. Right now, all we're doing is serving all the foreigners that want to visit or buy our country up. Lastly, I wouldn't call it arrogant to believe that we can make a better product than someone else; I would call it something to be proud of.
I am not a Anheuser-Bush fan, and you could not give me a Bud if it was the last beer on the planet, but I am saddened with the fact, that another major U.S. manufacturer is going overseas. I understand that they are not physically leaving the U.S., just bothered that the ownership is not longer controlled by U.S. citizens.

I'm with Derick, DRINK GUINESS
Again, if no jobs are being lost what is the heartburn? Dogfish Head makes some great dark beers as well, they are an American micro-brew. Bud drinkers may not like thier product though, none of thier beers taste like piss

I'm now drinking Coor's Light in boycott.

The beer owned by the MolsonCoors Brewing Company.

Wouldn't it be great if this country adopted the same attitude about the gas they put in their cars and the oil they heat their homes with as they do with the beer they drink.
Thank you sir...great point
"one of (if not the only) all American brewing companies left in the country"

Um, what about all the micro-breweries, many of which produce a vastly superior product to A-B anyway! It's nice to support local - here in NYC we get the farmers' market in Union Square several days a week, with products from upstate New York and New Jersey and such.

And it may comfort you to know that A-B, in its efforts to grab up as much market-share as possible, rather than produce something people would actually like to drink, engages in legal maneuvers to try to shackle its competitors. For example, when Sam Adams started really taking off in the '90s, A-B bankrolled a suit against Sam Adams. Is that American? Hardly.

I concur with the opinion of those who say, (A) Bud is piss-water and why would anyone want to drink it anyway, and (B) now that it's being bought out, maybe it will actually start producing a beer worth drinking!
When the AB story first hit the public, one of their options was to purchase the remainder of a Mexican brewing company that they already owned half of. This was supposed to make them too valuable for In-Bev to purchase. Did anyone ask or worry about the Mexican's point of view of a foreign company buying them out? What pompous asses we are sometimes.
I really think "sell out" is appropriate. I am not pissed about the sell out, it's become the American way. I don't appreciate being led to believe that this was a hostile take over. I believe that this was planned, and was set up to make AB look like the good guys, and In-Bev to look like the evil empire. If I switch to non AB products, it will be for that reason, and not for selling out.
I understand what your saying, maybe its just an Ohio thing...
They paid for my high school and middle school, provide a ton of jobs in North Columbus.
I won't boycott them but it is a sad day...

by the way, if anyone were to join you in your boycott you could possibly damage the Ohio economy worse than it already is...
Charming Carl made a good point saying" what about the microbreweries? "that is all I drink unless someplace does not have them. Buy local or Micro beers and support the real American brewers. For me this is a no big deal sale I like beer not A-B products which I have not had in years
