Ok, I'm a partner in a Cigar Company called Avalon Cigars, I blend tobacco and select the sizes that I think might be appealing to my fellow cigar nuts. I'm also 20+ year cigar addict with a 6-8 stick a day habit and a collection of cigars in my basement that makes most shop owners envious. Having said all of that for no readily apparent reason, I figured selling cigars to retail stores could not be that much of a chore. Boy was I wrong, I've heard every excuse under the sun when I make sales calls. I'm out of room, we don't really like to try new brands in months that end in y, call me back on the next 5 Tuesdays and we'll talk, I really like your cigars and I think they would sell very well, but we can't afford anymore inventory right now. Now, I never thought of myself as a salesman, so that may be the ultimate problem, but I think I've got a little something to offer in my knowledge and experience of cigars. Here's what I'm willing to do to prove my cigars are worthy of shelf space right along with the big guns of the industry. I know for a fact, every retailer in the country has a few boxes of cigars that just don't move for whatever reason, so I think I have a solution that will help us both out. I will take the first 10 shop owners that respond to this post via PM only and trade out retail box for retail box mine for yours (4 boxes) just to get a little shelf space. Once I'm in you're store I'm confident the sticks will move and you will re-order then we will both be happier. I know this sounds nutty, but I really think it just might work.
