Cigar Social Network
I corresponded with Eric Ridgley (aka Eric The Flippin Amazing here at SC). He is the one who is carrying the baton for what is the best party not organized by CigarFest or any of their manufacturers. I know. I have been there and it has only grown since he was under my tutelage (clap clap for E!). I need E to chime in here. He has another web site established strictly for this event. So, POINT US TO IT ERIC! Had it not been for Eric, I would have never met such fine people as Bugs, Paul, Zig, Max, Joe G, Too fu right now to complete the list. Had it not been for Cigar Weekly and SC, I would not have met Eric.
The list does not include those fine folks I have met since my first attendance. Dan, HBD, Tchap and RCarms, Alan Rubin (aka Alec Bradley for the newbies) ...would get the first nods. Forgive me for those I missed. See paragraph one.
I would be willing to attend without a ticket. So much happens outside of the event it is worth while, but that is me. I bet we could all get in with a little creativity. Trust me.
So, I am not driving alone. If I could get Johnny Jones, Mikey Schneider, Carl Tulanko, Torpedo2, Jerry etc, I would consider making the trip.
So, lets get the chatter started.
Do not do a search on previous CigarFest Events. All photos are photoshop'd and most of the information is hearsay and not supported by first hand account. Live this upcoming event. All else is in the past.
I'm updating my interest at Cigars International/CigarFest tonight to see if I can grab 4 tickets. If not, I know plan b better than most.

Tommy - since you last attended we have grown that pavilion into an all out party. I would be willing to bet that a large majority of the people who attend have a better time than almost all of the MFR parties. Last year we hit around 85-90 people.
This year will be much of the same.
If you want info, or want to stay in the loop please join the facebook page (http://tinyurl.com/6f9rff9).
For those that don't know, or haven't paid attention over the last couple of years. Here is what we do.
Friday morning:
Golf. Last year we had 15-20 people golfing. I handed out Cubans that were from the 80's to most of these men. What will the gift be this year???
After golf we had a 5 cigar buy-in golf challenge. Putting, Longest Drive, Longest Drive opposite hand, Closest to pin, Closest to pin opposite hand. I think one guy won 2 events equalling around 25 cigars.
Friday late afternoon:
NY grill master "D" shows up and the grilling starts. An entire pig roasted on site. Oysters. Sliders. Sausage. Sushi (made on site from our very own Clay). Food Food Food. 2 kegs of beer. Multiple gallons of home brew beer from different guys. Mamajuana. Liquor of every sort.
Friday evening:
The party is flowing. Music is playing. People are smoking, talking, laughing, enjoying the fellowship of cigar brothers and sisters. I turn off the music and tell everyone to shut their pie hole. I stand on table. I proceed to give away hundreds of cigars. Last year we had four different cigar manufacturers not only provide cigars to give away but were in attendance as well. Our boys from Camacho - oh what a friggin hilarious mess (Carlos, see that bear?) that was.
Saturday:
I am supposed to help work the event. I helped sit there like a friggin lump of crap on a log but that was about it. Way too man mamajuana shots and other mixtures of alcohol. What helped lighten my mood - having the wonderful miss Gelwick as a model for the booth. Hand out cigars all morning while sharing some more Cubans with my brother from another mother Charlie B.
Saturday night:
Same food and drink version from the night before. Less in attendance but just as much laughing and smoking.
Sunday:
make the long journey home.
If you are staying in the Villa's that I organize then there are even more details to give but I'll save them for those that actually sign up for that part.

Permalink Reply by Doctor Cigaro on January 12, 2011 at 1:31pm Seriously, though, Tommy, Eric is right. This thing has gotten much bigger and better. No exaggeration on E's part.
BTW, Eric... I'll be handing out prizes again this year as well [three years in a row, now!]. And as usual, they'll have to work for it! ; )

Permalink Reply by Eric The Flippin Amazing on January 12, 2011 at 10:23am Gunns - even without getting to the actual event there is an entire weekend of cigar give-aways, cigar smoking, cigar bbq's, cigar cigar cigar. Trust me brother - getting inside and being herd around like cattle is, by far, the least important (or memorable) part of the weekend.
This year is going to be better than ever. Another year wiser makes the party another year "AMAZING".

Permalink Reply by Torpedo2 on January 27, 2011 at 10:17pm I'm signed up for the pre registration TBM and right now if I can can get 4 ticks (which I'm hoping to do) there are 2 so far claimed tickets. So if you want one of them Ol tommy boy would be a blast to roll with!
This past year or 2 the money was a bit funny for me, but I have been working for the past year so thats no longer a issue. The other ticket is claimed by Theo, who you might know if you seen him. I'll drop you a line and see whats up!
The group of guys Ive been talking to at the Tuesday night herfs have allready planned to get a Villa ,so we can get 2 more guys in with no problem. 6 so far are planning to go. I havent talked to jerry or mike yet so I don't know what there plans are.
Tommy, too bad that I am mostly penniless right now or I would plan on coming, not to attend C-Fest but to hang with the SC crowd! Maybe next year...
I promise not to take too seriously whatever I see in the photos of the bbq etc.! lol.
