Cigar Social Network

Okay so I haven't been online near as much as I would like as of late. Work has really been crazy and completely drains me. I may not make it to Cincy or any other Herf that requires travel till later this year, but you can be sure I will not miss this.

What is a Tweetup you may ask? Well basically the idea is a gathering of online acquaintances that interact on Twitter getting together to meet-up in person. But just because you don't tweet don't let that stop you from making this party cause it is not a requirement!

Last year I attended #CHAtweetup2011 you may recall the post (click the link) found here.  All I can tell you is it was an absolute blast. This year's event promises to be bigger and better, which is hard to fathom considering the awesome time we all had last year.

All of the information can be found here at the Tiki Bar Online but here is a run down of the packages available for pre-sale currently available for purchase at Burns Tobacconist's website. For those of you "ascared" to click a link here's the deal (Thanks to David Jones for allowing me to exert my copy-paste skills):

THE TWEETUP PACKAGE
We got a little complicated with packages last year, so we tried to simplify it a bit this year and include more for what is a steal of a price. The Tweetup Package will include:

A multipack of cigars (quantity to be determined) in a Humidipak bag
T-shirt (we’ll ask your size when you order tickets, available up to 4XL)
Liquor Tasting featuring some fine Tennessee Spirits
1 Raffle Ticket (additional raffle tickets available with purchases of at least 10 cigars)
Discount Card (good at either Burns location all weekend for 5% off all single cigars, up to 19; 20% off all box purchases or purchases of 20 cigars)
Saturday Dinner at CBC/Burns Downtown Location (food only; drinks not included)
For the FIRST 100 people, this package will be $40
Remaining Pre-Sale Tickets: $45
Day of the Event (if available): $50

BASEBALL GAME
We’ve reserved the right-field pavilion for Friday night’s Lookouts (Minor-League Baseball, affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) game. The pavilion is shaded and has cooling fans and can seat well over the 30 to 40 that came to last year’s game. Last year’s luxury suite was nice, but crowded and the food was a bit of a disaster. So...

$20/ticket (limit of 150 tickets) will get you:
Admission plus unlimited hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream and sodas from the buffet. $1 Draft Beer through the 7th inning. A smoking section adjacent to the seating area...and we’re being told that you can either see the field or that there are TVs set up to watch the game from that area.

We are also working on a surprise guest and cigar sponsor for the baseball game. AND we are looking into group transportation to move large numbers of people to and from the field.

So that’s it...be prepared to get your online butts to www.BurnsTobacconist.com on Thursday, March 15, 2012, to buy your tickets...and we all look forward to seeing you in Chattanooga again this August!

Now one thing that is not mentioned here is that you really don't have to buy anything to attend, so don't let that stop you as we all know money is still rather tight at this point for most of us. Oh did I mention some of the rock star's of the cigar industry list that will be attending this year:

Good Morning Joe Ed!

Glad to hear you're doing well in ATL!  I was hoping to see you next month in South Carolina, but looks like I have to make my way Chattanooga in August for a Joe Ed & Tassie sighting! I'm hoping more of the SC Folks can attend this year.

Will figure out my office schedule & travel plans for August.  If I drive to TN, I will bring the oversized RP Cigar.

See ya in Chattanooga!

I had a great time hanging with JoeEd,Tassie, and Sandi last year. I hope to be able to do it again this year.

Good Morning Duane,

Yes, we had a great time last year.  I was going to post the pic of us 4 at the club, but since I'm visiting Mom in the Sunshine State, I'll have to do it when I get home.  Maybe you can convince Loomis and MMK to join you (if they're available).

I gotta look at my calendar. Me likes Burns Tobacconist!

ha => Sandi said Sunshine State

JLI...I'll see you in July (just unsure how long I'm staying after the exam).

Joe Ed...you know my reading comprehension is very very bad, and I have simple questions...does the 2 day package include the baseball game or do I have to buy both the 2 day package and the game package?  I've read the 2 day package 1000x and I don' see any mention of the game being included.

Good Morning Everyone...from the Empire State!

Empire State?

Sunshine State?

I'm in the State of Depression ; is that close by???

I would say the Garden State, but I don't want to offend any of my NJ neighbors.

Woot I have purchased my passes to the shin-dig! Only 155 days and counting!
Sandi the baseball game is an optional $20/ticket limited to 150 attendees. Maybe this year I may get to see some of the game but I wouldn't count on it. Can't guarantee you autographed foul ball either! ;-)

I told ya my comprehension was very bad.  Thanks Joe Ed!!!  Let me buy my ticket NOW (well when I come back upstairs).  Hehe!

Only 150 days and counting... ;-)
