I know it's early, but with my father bailing on me, I'm trying to see if my buddy wants to go, but for him since he's the lead of his department and they are on a 6 month systems upgrade that he is overseeing, gotta get plans rocking well in advance!
I'd love to go, but if I can't find someone to travel with/ room with/ hang out with... might have to pull the plug on it...

Dig it... We usually start ramping up for it after the holidays but don't usually start looking at accommodations until into March.

My cousin and I are heading out of Washington Township, NJ (I believe you will drive right by us when you catch Route 80 in Jersey) you’re more then welcome to leave your car at the house and ride up with us.“but if I can't find someone to room with”
Plenty of room in the houses Doctor Cigaro and the group rent out.“but if I can't find someone to hang out with”

Ok really guys... got the email this morning at 4:30am... shortly thereafter I was registered, then I went over to check out Split Rocks rooms, and ALL the rooms, for ALL the options were unavailble for friday into saturday.. like WTF? Does CI have a special deal with them or something? I don't see how, the day it's announced WHEN the herf is going to be, all rooms are gone, i'm amiss here...

According to the website:
"For all Hotel Bookings call 1-888-802-2348 or 1-800-255-7625.
Reservations available Wednesday February 22nd, 2012 at 8am.
Shuttle service available at the hotels listed below."They probably block off a set of rooms for the event and want to wait till after the ticket sale date to start offering rooms. I wouldn't start stressing over rooms at this point, too early, and remember some of the members here also rent a few houses that you could get in on. I do like that they split the event into two days.

Spliting the event or rather duplicating the event over 2 days seems like both a good idea and a bad idea. Not sure how many people are going to be able to, or want to get out to the event on a Friday, but the vendors, by saturday, after dealing with the friday herf might not be in the best of spirits come saturday. And how is this going to work with the raffles? Are they going to give away 2 cars/trucks? 2 boxes of HMR? 2 "store runs"? I know that the event is huge, and I'm assuming that they are offering 2 days because of what happened last year with the extremely fast sell out time, I can just see some downfalls to the 2 "CigarFests". It's almost becoming less of a herf and more of a "BigSmoke" style convention, seems less personal somehow.
As far as lodging, looking at the information on Cigarfest.org, the prices for the rooms are quite a bit more than each individual locations normal prices... yay price gouging! Looks like I might be saying close to the Superstore again for only $50 a night in a Sheraton. That is if I don't end up crashing with some of you folks.
