A young guy brings his humidor into the shop yesterday for me to evaluate it and his cigars as he'd been given a bunch of old cigars that he's trying salvage [looks like they were dried out and then over-humidified as there were a lot of cracked wrappers].  But the bulk of them looked to be salvageable.

So, for all my sage advice and help, the young fella gave me one of his sticks.  It's a Montecristo, but I don't recognize the label.  Thought maybe one of you might...

Although you can't see the detail in the side view of the label, it is the Eiffel Tower in the scene.  I told the lad that I'd do some research on it and let him know what he has when he came back in.  Let me know if any of you recognize this stick.  Thanks!

Not contraband. This Commie B'stard is familiar with those, but please let us not get into that again.

Maybe a limited release called Cigars des Arts or something along those lines?

Memory getting worse these days but I think it was an Indonesian wrapper. Also it might have had artwork on the lid with scenes of Paris.

Are you sure it was him?

might be... could be... may be... ?  C'mon!  You guys are supposed to be my "go-too's" for this stuff!  ; )  Where's the definitve, "Ah, but of course!  That is the ____________ made in the ________, circa ___________.  And, oh, by the by, Interesting story behind that .... yada, yada, yada."

; )

That is a good point!  ; )
I remember that Montecristo had something called a Des Arts about 5 yrs ago or so...I think it was a Dominican.

Thank you Sir!

Below par cigars do not cause total recall! ;)

Well, that's two votes for the Des Arts ... think I'll go with that. Thanks for the input, gentlemen!
Sorry, Doc...it's just not a memorable cigar for me...mainly because I am not a Montecristo smoker.  I DO remember seeing Famous-Smoke having them around quite a while ago, but have not seen them since...maybe they were being closed out?  I don't know.

Yeah, I'm not much of a Monte guy either, unless it's from the yonder-land.

Although... a Montecristo is the first "premium" cigar that I'd had all those years ago and it was that cigar that launched me into this whole thing. ; )

I did some research on Des Arts...it had a Habano 2000 wrapper...Dominican, and retailed for about 7 bux in a double corona...not a lot of  "I gotta have one" praise, though.  The name was pretty much gone by 2002-3 and it was replaced by the Platinum and White series.
Good stuff, Arturo!

I know Monty Python's Flying Circus, Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  But I don't think you can smoke them.
