Mine is simple. With all this talk about Obama and Cuba regarding the embargo, as a cigar smoker do you think that the embargo should be lifted on cigars? I am split 50/50. I want it lifted because I think that the race for everyone to get Cuban's that there will be some great deals on all other brands to take advantage of, also I could freely get Cubans. But I dont want it lifted because we might miss out on alot of great cigars from smaller brands. Also from what everyone is saying that if it does gets lifted that the quality of the Cuban cigars would go down. In all honesty Cubans are like weed, just ask around a little bit and you fill find a source.

Kaz not to be a kill-joy, but this topic has been covered ad nauseam on this site in the days before you joined. Do a search and you will find the previous threads. I'm not really interested in re-hashing the topic yet again.
I'm sure you would've said this or something similar if I hadn't. The fact that I had the cojones to go first and say it leaves you to look like the tolerant good-guy. I'm not telling anybody off - I'm just saying do search and you'll have your answer. I'm doing him a favor.

Or would you prefer I say nothing, and leave poor Kaz to wonder why noone is responding to his thread?
A simple "Kaz, do a search of this topic for your answer" would have sufficed IMHO...but the extra you added to the reply made you look like an asshole sorry to say...I still like you tho =)
Ha
Karl = 1st place cojones
MMK= cojones for show
JLI = bronze metal cujones
Karl telling off Kaz = one gold coin
Mark chiming in = a silver dollar
JLI adding his 2 cents = one cent
Ken calling Karl a lovable a**hole = priceless
LOL someone's gotta bust CK's balls...yes MMK The Champ did say balls...but let's not hijack this man's thread...I'm going to answer his question.

Kaz, like you, I am also 50/50 on the subject. It is my understanding that the Obama Administration is not trying to lift the embargo right now but they are trying to lift travel restrictions, which in essence could make it a tad bit easier to go to the island country and buy cigars as opposed to buying online and worrying about the legalities of it. It all depends on what kind of limitations and rules are placed in any legislation put forward to lift those travel restrictions. I'm sure that this administration will make serious strides to lift the trade embargo sometime in the future (it will all depend on what our government brings to the table and what their government brings to the table in any round of negotiations) but right now, the main focus appears to be lifting travel restrictions. So folks who are interested should get their pennies together to book them a flight and lodging because this could happen by the end of this year. That's my thoughts on that!

Here ya go. The first three threads above are commenting on the Embargo, with the first one being very recent - it was started Feb 23rd and has responses through March 27 I believe.

The fourth thread is one I started on the topic of hypocrisy of buying Cuban cigars on the one hand and complaining about recent "socialist" Democratic policies. There you can see exactly how I feel about this topic.

The last is a recent thread trying to stay away from politics and focus on the merits of various Cuban cigars.

With that, the "asshole" will take a break from SC, and maybe come back when his contributions are wanted.
They always are Karl.
A simple yes or no would of been fine......but the fact you said cojones made this whole thread worth it. And honestly I found nothing wrong with your first comment. I thank you for giving me these links to the other threads, since I did not have time to do a search since I was doing Easter with my family, I just thought this was better then who would you kill before you killed yourself.
I really don't get how any of you thought that Karl told me off in the first comment. I guess some people are a little more sensitive than I am.
Kaz, it’s always good to revisit an old subject periodically, especially with the rapidly changing situation in Cuba.
I can see some conflict with the recently (since the embargo) established brand issues, as well as the change in the market as you suggested. I favor the release of the embargo. Cuba has always favored certain countries with the best cigars of any given brand – example would be Spain has always gotten the best, Canada does not nor would we. I don’t think that the quality of their cigars will change at all, though the prices will vary with supply and demand.
Just imho.
;)

Karl, don’t be so cranky – leave that to us old folk. ;)
Don’t melt down, no need to take a break, just practice a little tolerance. 
Again just imho.

mmk you were not over sensitive just spot on as usual.
You know that dog actually looks a little bit like mmk...
