Exciting News!

Friends, I write to you today with some exciting personal news. Due to my love of cigars and people, I have accepted the position of NYC Chapter Chairman of the Cigar Rights of America.

Cigar Rights of America (CRA) was founded on the principle of fighting for the freedom to enjoy cigars. CRA is a consumer-based, non-profit, public advocacy organization that works with local, state and federal governments to protect the freedoms of cigar enthusiasts.

I’ve been a cigar enthusiast for 12 years, and since becoming a member of The Grand Havana Room last year, I have been introduced to a higher level of cigar enjoyment. Venturing out further, I have found the cigar community to be an amazing source of charity with a passion for life, freedom and individuality. I have met with manufacturers, distributors, retailers and enthusiasts to discuss the industry and cigar smoking in general.

My fellow cigar enthusiasts are always willing to teach about their favorite smokes and have helpful recommendations. Walk into any cigar shop and ask a fellow smoker about which cigars he/she prefers and why, you will make a friend every time.

All 50 states in the US have some form of a smoking ban or a tax on tobacco products. A common misconception regarding the anti-smoking movement is that it is solely targeting cigarettes. In reality it is geared towards all smoking products including non-addictive cigars and pipes. The primary goal of the anti-smoking movement is to eventually outlaw all tobacco products.

For the 13+ million cigar smokers in this country, cigar smoking is a source of self expression, enjoyment and brotherhood. Cigars unite a wide variety of people from all walks of life.

As Chairman of the NYC Chapter of the CRA, I will be focused on identifying and building a strong membership base to fight for the rights of cigar enthusiasts.

My mission is to provide:
• A wide variety of events
• Information & resources
• Special offers from Manufacturers and Retailers
