Fever Fading

I think my 8-week cigar hiatus has at least accomplished one thing; I don't feel the need to acquire every new cigar out there.  I've felt the desire receding all year, and aside for a couple exceptions, I'm just not feeling the compulsion to "keep up with the Garcias" so to speak.

I don't have the budget or the exposure to new stuff locally anyway, which makes it a little easier, and I've quit reading every cigar-whore blog out there as well. I'll just smoke/sell my stash down to manageable levels, and fade away..

I'm fine, D, really. Just shaking off the "gotta have the latest" cigar bug. Spent 4 years trying this, getting a fiver of that, calling Micah to see if he had these and making a deal with someone else for some of those. They're only rolled-up wads of dead leaves; are they really worth losing one's mind over? Forget it.

The sad thing is, yet other obsessive, geeky interests are competing for the brain space once allocated to all things incendiary. Gotta keep them in check too. St. Dymphna, pray for us.

What do you figure a manageable level?

I use MS Excel to manage mine.

Eh, I did the Excel thing for a while, back when I had only one coolerdor full of sticks, and entered everything as it came in from CBid  ;-) . Of course, that system went to hell once I started PIF trades, bombing and getting bombed. I now have 3 coolers (full of only God knows what), 1x 150 ct, and 4x desktop humis. Maybe I'll bundle a couple humi+cigar assortment deals together for the SC peeps. I need to get down to one cooler (maybe even less).

Perhaps the intercession of Venerable Matt Talbot is more appropriate..
