Cigar Social Network

Hello all - I'm Beth, aka Shovelgrrrl, and I'm new to SC, but not to cigars. I've been smoking cigars for over 20 years. Some of you might recognize me from other cigar sites...but we can probably be friends anyway. HAHAHAHA.

Here in Albuquerque there's only one club where a person can legally smoke indoors, and that club costs $500 per year to join, so as you might imagine, I mostly smoke in my own back yard. There are a couple of "cigar bars" here (whose legality is in question), but at least so far they're mostly reserved for Frat boys - not exactly my crowd. I sure wish we had a bar like the one I was lucky enough to visit last week, right across the river from Cincinnati - where I met Pablo and Micah and had a great time! Kind of a long commute from Albuquerque, though.

This site is a little different from some other others I'm on - so it might take me a while to get the hang of this one, but I'm glad to be here. Thanks to so many of you who have already given me a warm welcome! I'm glad to be here. -Beth

Welcome! if I haven't already said it. What is the origin of your screenname? We already have a fellow on here who calls himself Ditchdigger, who actually does dig a lot of holes in the course of doing his job.

Sorry to hear that Albuquerque has so little to offer a non-frat boy cigarsmoker like yourself. I live in New York City, where even in the midst of a fairly strong ban, we manage to have a handful of places with enough differences that I think there's at least one to appeal to anyone's tastes. But I'm sure you've got many things in New Mexico that we don't have here.

Have fun here, and I hope to run into you in the chatroom one of these days!
Thanks! Shovelgrrrl is for my 1979 Shovelhead Harley - I've got a couple of photos of it up on my page, although some people think it's because I'm a shovelbum - (archeologist), but it's really for the Harley. I know archaeology only through poor association....hahahahahahaha. -B
Frat boys are okay on-line, just not in person...a person can only take so much of that Beavis & Butthead laugh...

Good to see you, Beth!

Sheesh - who's gonna pay $500 a year when the back porch is free? Sometimes I think some people have more money than brains...
Oh, it's a nice club, and they do events, and you get humidor space...it's probably worth it, and if I had money laying around to burn I would definiately join. Every time I think about joining, though, I think about how many cigars I could buy for the troops with the same $500 bucks, and I just can't join....-B
N00b to n00b - welcome to the Asylum!

Hey! One hour of chit-chat and a cigar and you're already calling me nuts???? I resemble that remark! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! -Beth
