Social Cigar

Cigar Social Network

Hi everyone.  I'm not exactly new having joined over a year ago but I never took the time to introduce myself or meet others.  I received an email yesterday from the webmaster explaining some website changes which prompted me to stop by for long past due visit.

Anyway, I'm 58, married with 3 children ages 13, 22 and 29 and have one grandchild.  I'm a retired attorney who practiced law for 23 years.  I now refer to myself as a professional volunteer because I am involved in a myriad of church, school and community activities.

Besides cigars, my other passions are playing and collecting guitars and amps.  I love the blues and classic rock though my tastes are eclectic and broad.  I am also very politically conservative and a devoted American.  I'm also Roman Catholic and deeply involved in my parish.  But don't get the wrong impression . . . I have a darker adventurous side as well.

I enjoy good food and I like to cook and host dinner parties with my wife.  I've lived up here for 23 years now and I've never grown tired of the beauty of this place or the wonderful friends I have made and kept through the years.

Please add me a friend if you're so inclined.  I'd like to spend more time over here instead of being on Facebook most of the time.

Hey Russell,

I see that you posted your introductions as well! Like you, I am a staunch conservative but uh... I only wish I could play guitar! Hope you're enjoying a little rain like we have down here in the Phoenix area. Take care!

Rich
Hey Rich,

We had a wonderful rain all day yesterday. Today is just overcast and muggy. We spent a week at Kierland Villas in Scottsdale the last week of June and it was pretty tolerable. Got to enjoy a few sticks while down there and visited the Cigar Warehouse on Scottsdale Blvd. Ever been there? Nice place although I thought there inventory was way down probably due to SCHIP tax, etc. Keep in touch.

Russell
Nope can't say that I have been there. But you drove by one of the best spots in the Phoenix area. Magnum's is just east of the 17 and the 101 intersection. I've been to some pretty swanky places, but that one takes the cake.
From the outside it looks like it might be a liquor store at the corner of a strip mall but one you get inside it's like walking into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory for adults... lavishly decorated, beautiful decor, a large selection of wine to purchase at the right, cigar accessories and a large, well stocked humidor in the center and through the doorway to your left is a fantastic bar area with just about any type of scotch whisky, tequila, cognac... etc you can imagine. I have only been there once but it was great. The owner, Amar, was a fantastic host and seems like a great guy. The bartender, Mike, had an answer to every scotch related question I had. You cant ask for more!
Smoke crack Ross? Don't give the guy the wrong idea! ha
Punctuation, punctuation. that's too funny!
I'm thinking about thinning down the heard myself. do I really need all that gear? Thanks.
That's like asking, do I really need a 500 ct humidor? Of course you need all that gear, if you WANT all that gear! ;)
Welcome to SC from a fellow politically conservative, Roman Catholic cigar smoker!
Great game tonight vs. Boston. Jeter passed The Babe in lifetime hits. He's amazing. Have you ever been to Sedona?
We have family in Hickory, NC. Visited there once and loved it. My wife lived in Boone before we met. It's become a pretty popular state. It's still on our list of future residences if we ever leave Sedona.
Sedona Rocks! Been there several times, even honeymooned there.
Welcome! Imagine that, a lawyer taking his time, are we billed by the hour? ; )

We have a ton of fun here and there's even some useful information. Jump right in, the smoke's fine.
