I have an issue with Gurkha wrappers.

I have two humidors, one I keep at 70 rh and the other at 65 for those sticks that are notorously tight.

It doesn't matter which box I use I have problems with every Gurkha unwrapping while I smoke it. I have not problems with any other sticks, Oliva's are fine, including the inexpensive Flor de Oliva's, CAO's, even Vega Series A"s, but Gurkhas just plain unwrap almost without fail.

I don't understand why a cigar with such a high MSRP should be so prone to this problem.

I have even tried giving them time in a dry box to see if I can "aclimatize" them before I toast them but they invevitably unwrap.

I guess I am going to have to give up purchasing these cigars, I have bought them on line from several sources, the same souces I use for all my other purchases but the result is the same.

Any thoughts, tricks or advice would be very much appreciated.

no advice here Bill ~ but I experience the same problems with Rocky Patel's...

SO Maybe - just maybe we are being critical and super sensitive, by holding a "premium" manufacturer to a higher standard?

Most 'don't' have issues with RP's... Maybe it's just me... like you with Gurkha's [?]

I seem to have the same problem with CAO's
