Well I have a new Solana rosewood with burled maple inlays. Or at least thats what they said when I baught it. It is very good looking, and larger than I had thought it might be. I have been seasoning for about a week + and have even calibrated "both" of my hydrometers, one analog that came with it, plus a nice digital one, that came with the seasoning pack that I purchased. I can't get my humidity down below 75% yet, but today I took the two Bovida 84 packets out today and put them in one of my ceder cigar boxes, just to see if th RH will stabilize there, or drop down closer to 70%.  Also I have two large rectangular humidifiers still inside the Humidor, one on the lid, and one in the bottom. My other concern is the temp inside the house, about 75F. So the temp in my humidor is about 75F also. I had the digital hydrometer/temp unit inside under the lid, but I moved it to the bottom today also, just to see if there is any big notible differences in the bottom versus the top.  My big question to all who have been here before is this... Will my Humidor work if it stabilizes at 75F and 75% RH or will I need to remove one of the large rectangle humidifiers???

I got 90 cigars coming in around tomarrow, I know stupid me, dumb-dumb and all that, not having made sure about the humidor first. I have been using my Xikar 18-24 travel case and it makes a good humidor, but 40 cigars and 50 cigarellos won't fit in there. It's all my fault actually, I am addicted to "cigarsintl.com" and I just coudn't stay away from the add to cart button. Then I could keep away from the continue button after that.

Any suggetions on if it's o.k. with the 75F and 75% RH ???  what to do......  anyway, I'll be keeping a good look at the posts tonight...Dave.

Did you use the two Bovida packs AND two large rectangle humidification devices to season your new humidor?

Unless you are going to turn down the temp in your house - there isn't much you can do with the temp in your humidor. Don't add ice/cool packs to it as the moisture will be soaked up by the cigars.

Throw the analog hygrometer away - they really are useless. Fun to look at but very unreliable.

I personally don't like my cigars that wet (at 75% RH) so would definitely take out one of your rectangle humidification devices. The new cigars will soak up some of the excess moisture helping drop the RH down. Once you put them in the humidor don't open the lid for at least 12 hours. Let them sit and stabilize. After that you can add/decrease humidity slowly.

Good luck bud - let us know how it turns out.
So far, over the course of late last night, I noticed the RH was down to 73% (Digital Hydrometer). I will remove one of the Large rectangle humidifiers, and I guess try to place it also in one of my ceder cigar boxes for the time being. I don't want it to dry out just yet, in case something strange happens. (YES) to your earlier question, I did use TWO Brovida 84 packs and TWO Large rectangle humidifiers to season the Humidor. "BUT" let me explain why I did that...
I read a lot of reviews about humidors, before I finally hit the buy button. I liked a lot of them, but this one is the one I wanted. However more than one of them had stated that it took a very long time to season this particular one. Then one guy had come up with a solution, and having successfully tried it himself, I decided to fallow his recomendations to help this process. He recomended that I purchase (1) Humidification upgrade, and (1) seasoning RH kit for 100 count humidor. Then he reccomended that when I activate the Boxes humidifier, that I also activate the extra one. Placing one in the top, and one in the bottom. He had said that together, with the Brovida 84 packs, this would solve the long process and get you up and running a little sooner with plenty left over. He was right, I don't know what to do with the extra stuff, "Brvida's and the humidifier, but it seems to have done what that guy said it would do.
Now if I can just remove the extra humidifier, get the RH down a bit I think it'll work........ Keep you posted.
If the RH is at 73 just put cigars in it and you should be at 68-70 in about 12 hours. Just don't keep opening the cover to check them. Just put them in and leave it alone. Put the extra humidifer and Boveda pack in a ziplock.
Thanks for the heads up on the Zip Lock, etc... So far so good, got the box locked and a few good smokes in my travel box for the time being. Thanks for all the advise.... Dave.
I fallowed the advice, let everything settle down, I even took a handfull of my irish cream cigarello's and put them in there for a few days with everything else. The humidity is at 71% and has stabilized there. The cigars a re perfect smokers now, having tried one of my new Gurkha Cuban legacy, and one of my Carlos Torano dominico's while watching several episodes of Lost. Both of those Cigars where very fine smokers, especially after the first inch or so. They where less than an inch long when I put them down and finished them. The little cigarello's are to moist just sitting in the top of the humidor, so I have taken them out and put them in a small cedar box to smoke them up here and there as they hopefully dry down a bit. They are very good, don't get me wrong. But as moist as the are, and as small as they are, they just feel like they will fall apart when you are smoking them. I think that issue was two fold, one being they don't have cellophane wrappers, and two they were right under the humidifier on the top shelf.
Thanks for all the help and info, everyone here is very helpfull.
