Hey all,

Long-time cigar smoker from Washington, DC. My girl Cindy (aka McSorley's Dame) was good enough to turn me on to this site. Love what you all have going on here, thanks for letting me join.

Welcome! Now, What is your favorite cigar, and what do you want to be when you grow up?
Right now, I'm enjoying La Flor Dominicana Ligero Chisel point as a favorite; Always prefer maduro to natural wrapper, med to strong cigars. Padron 1926 robusto is the best smoke I've had in a while.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be tailback for the USC Trojans and then attorney. Neither worked out, but I survived. Now, I'm happy to be a petty despot of a small Pacific Rim island and name all of the months after me and my pet cockatoo.
Nice! I need to try one of those LFDLChisels. Heard so much about that vitola, however, I am always scared off by the chisel cap. It was my bad experience with the Victor Sinclair Chisels. I ruined 2 of them before I even got to smoke one. I understand
1.) I am not the only to have this issue, and
2.) I didn't miss out on much by ruining them.
Not familiar with the VS Chisels. I'll be sure to avoid them. Thanks for the heads-up.
La Flor Dominicana makes the only good Chisel. Victor Sinclair makes nothing but crap, so I'm not surprised they screwed up their chisel. La Flor's Chisel is absolutely amazing and if you like those, try the DL700 Maduro. It tastes a bit like the Chisel but it's much bigger at 6.5x60 and it's much easier to find.
The key to chisel shaped cigars is to hole punch the top by the head.
It's the way Litto smokes them.
Another excellent chisel type cigar is the La Tradicion Cubana Reed Maduro.
I don't even own a punch but turning them vertically and cutting with a double guillotine works like a charm...
I haven't had a real problem with chisel points, but I'm limited in my experiences. As for a cut/punch I use a double guillotine or a sharp pen knife.
Welcome to the Social Cigar Forum Brian!

If Cindy is your girl, shouldn't she be "Joyner's Girl"?

:-D
LOL. Fair enough. My wife probably isn't happy to hear I have a "girl" other than her.
HA! Please don't start any rumors--I have enough of them to deal with ;)
Hello Brian,
Welcome and good tidings. It's probably a good thing you didn't become an attorney 'cuz nobody likes 'em. I sprung that idea on my Dad one time and he said, "I hate attorneys and I won't support your efforts to become one." I did not understand his point of view until I got divorced a few years later. But, have you tried the CAO Brazilia and if so what do you think? I smoked one this afternoon and it was heaven until half way down and just went out on me. Cheap as they are I still go back to 5 Vegas Series "A" for a good maduro 'cuz they smoke down to the nub.
