Merry Meet to All~
I call my Self Rasheedah Sabreen. I am known to many as MoonCat.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia PA where I was schooled for 13 years by the Brides of Christ. I was as strange to the land then as I am now. My given name means odd, strange, alien to the land. Knowing the meaning of my name and thereby identifying my energy allowed me the freedom to be, to paraphrase Mr. Wizard, "just what I is, not what I is not."
I came to California on a Greyhound bus at the age of twenty-one. I wanted to go back to Philly after two weeks but my boyfriend,also from Philly, convinced me to stay. He is gone. I am not.
Domestic Life; Mother to daughter, Kwanzaa, 24 years old,married, attending nursing school. Grandmother to Jaeda Elaine, 21/2, attending pre-school next week \0/, mother in-law to Mr. Jackson, a great son in-law. Mother to Issa, 16 years old, the usual teenager with angst and a fantastic jazz drummer. Friend of my cat, Misty Rainbow, a better familiar could not be asked for by one such as my Self.
Bread and Butter: Special Education Instructional Assistant in a public elementary school. I have served children for over twenty years in three school districts and three alternative education centers and my own in-home school now defunct.
Soul Food:Singing, playing my guitar, writing,dancing anywhere I happen to be standing(no shame to my game), reading/studying, meeting people, living a magical life. I am more than happy to have been guided to this wonderful network.

I hope you enjoy and learn a lot about cigars . I know you will find a bunch of good peeps here , and even more very useful knowledge about the great cigar adventure.

Thank you for your kind words, Kevin. I have no doubt I will enjoy my sojourn here. I already have a high opinion of the good peeps here. I see that knowledge is in abundance and I am ready to learn.
I was in Sacramento last month. I performed at a book signing for an author friend of mine. I forget the location. I took pictures. It was that upscale area with the upscale projects and the man made lake for a splashyard. I had a great time, good food, good beer AND I was able to smoke a cigar! I will be returning there within the next couple of months with the author and the rest of our entourage. We are a performance group.
You can call me Rasheedah or just MoonCat...no need for the aka:). Whichever one resonates with you.

I know what you go through professionally. My wife teaches kindergarten special ed. That is not easy. Glad you found your way to Social Cigar. Whereever you go on this site you'll find friendly folks who want to share their experiences and knowledge of cigars.

Welcome to Social Cigar, Rasheedah! from a fellow musician and lover of furry felines. With my last cat, I felt I was as much his companion animal as vice versa. I also find myself dancing if I'm standing and there's music nearby. And learning about things is a passion. Cigar, for example, lol. But pretty much everything else, too...

Thank you very much Ch'ming! Cats chose me over the years, coming out of bushes to talk with me, all kinds of encounters. I even saved one's life and it has been cats ever since. To top it all off, my birthday marks the beginning of the month of the Black Panther which is my guardian animal. When we meet we must dance...don't forget! I have a passion for learning also. I always have at least five books with me in my car. Yes...I am getting a bit perturbed because I have not had the space to start my cigar studies. I have to focus on my music as I am suddenly in demand which is really cool considering I don't have a cd out! Take care!
