Cigar Social Network

Greetings to all, I signed on to this site a while back and it was pretty new to the scene, but it has really evolved it to something really cool and genuine. I'm of Cuban descent, and have been around cigars pretty much all my life, but didn't start smoking one until about 8 years ago in the Bahamas(started with Cubans). But over the years, I got to know some of the local smoke shops in the area and started trying different makes. So far, I would have to say, Arturo Fuente, "Short Story" and montecristo's are my Favs. I'm mostly into a Maduro and I have it at the same time while having a good cup of coffee(interesting, but try it).

I'm looking to meet other avid smokers and interested in hearing some smoke that you might recommend.

Welcome back Albert. What should we call you Albert, Al or ? I too, like the Fuente and Monte.
Thanks Gunns, Yeah, I go by Albert. I ride motorcycles too. I currently have two old bikes. They keep me busy, but I do enjoy the big open roads. You should ad me to your list of friends...
Hola Albert! Many Happy Returns...to SC anyway! :-D

Actually, now that you've returned, I hope you're here to stay...to not go away again...only to return again.
Welcome back, Albert. I hope you enjoy your time here. You are not alone in your love of maduros. I don't smoke them all the time, but sometimes the really dark ones, almost oscuro, like CAO Brazilia, really hit the spot.

What's with the Che-shaped Cuban flag? Is he one of your heros?
well, I do illustrations and graphic design. I like the photos of Che. I like some of the ideologies he stood for, I don't agree with what it took to over run a country... if you were poor in Cuba, it may have worked out for you, if you were doing arlight in Cuba, then you lost out. My grandfather and dad were one of those who lost out. So to answer your question about Che, is he one of my Heros, I guess not...but I do like the idea of Standing up for your rights and having Everyone on the same level. The Che-shaped cuban flag was just a concept I came up with. I will also do others... not just cuban leaders, but leaders of the world and pop icons.

when I get a chance, I will have to try the CAO Brazilia, I've seen them...it's about a 45 gauge, I believe and Dark as Night.
CAO comes in all shapes and sizes, from the Piranha which is like 4 x 36 up to the Amazon which is 6 x 60 and the hard-to-find Anaconda which is 7-1/2 x 58. The most recent addition to the line is a box-pressed toro which is very nice.

I didn't realize you had made your avatar yourself! I look forward to seeing some of your other artwork.
Awesome! Glad there are others out there that find that Coffee really Complements the "sabor" of a Maduro. I think it also clears your palette to really enjoy the different flavor points within a Cigar.

If you get a chance, buy a coffee under the brand, Bustelo... You can find it at your local "mom and pop" style markets. Forget the starbucks stuff, it only gives me heart burn.
I grew up in a neighborhood in New Jersey with a significant Hispanic population, where everybody knew that Bustelo was the name if you wanted some good coffee.
Yeah that be the one. It's cheap and GOOD, but keep it on the down low, cause you know how things get when too many people talk about it. Before you know it, we will see a chain of Bustelo Baristas thinking they are so cool while they are sticking you with an expensive cup of JOE.
right on, then you know what I'm talking about. You originally from Jersey? Have not been there in a while...but I spent a short time there when I was headed to Cap Cod.
