Fellow Herferators,

Well, it has been exactly one week ago I had hip replacement surgery.  I have been told to quit smoking for a while, or at least keep it to an absolute minimum which I am doing.  I ran my inventory down from about thirty to one I have left to smoke when I can celebrate feeling human again.  I must admit this has been the worst week of my life from a physical standpoint but this morning I am feeling a bit better.  Thank God for modern medicine and great physicians!  I feel lucky to be living in a time when these kinds of procedures can be performed with precision and safety.  If any of you have gone through this or are anticipating it I would like to share what I have learned with you or hear what your experience was like.  All the best.

MMK,
Thanks for reply. I am not currently on Vicodin but what is called Roxicet. It doesn't mess with your mind all that much but it doesn't cut pain as well as Vicodin either. I nearly died of starvation from the crappy hospital food! But they do know how to make crackers, bananas and apples okay!

In about two weeks I will be undergoing an abdominal surgery and, like you, I have been told to stop smoking cigars. While I am not going crazy, I would be much happier if I were allowed to smoke or, in the alternative, myexile from smoking was a bit less.
