Well I don't smoke every day, and when I do go out to smoke, I always take a variety of cigars with me, so my attitude is, if one doesn't work out, I have other options. I'd rather trash a bad cigar and start fresh than struggle to make something work.
For example, a couple years ago I was at a club in Spain and pulled out a Davidoff perfecto, only to discover that being in my luggage had dried the poor thing out, and the wrapper was peeling and crumbling. So I just moved on to the next cigar.
Not that I give up too easily - I know, these things cost a lot of dough - but I'm out to have a good time, not paddle upstream.
