So finally Camacho's New Line, Room 101, has made it to New Orleans. Out of the 6 gars on line I purchased 3 (213, 702, and 808). After the 702 and 213, I'm giving it up (after I smoke them at least twice to stay true to my rule). I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this release. Maybe there was too much hype? Maybe it's just a baby line that needs to marinate (for a LONG time). Anybody else smoke these? Lemme know what you think.

How many did you smoke of each? At first I thought you had two of each, but I realize that I misread what you said. My usual rule of thumb is I can' t judged any size of any line of cigars on the basis of only one cigar. I have to try at least two. And smoking one cigar each of two different sizes of one line of cigars doesn't constitute a proper tasting, imho.

I got the sampler from Dylan Austin, which was a robusto size, not sure of the corresponding number. I smoked one and had a little burn issue, but otherwise thought it was quite impressive. I gave my other two away, to Denise of the Maduro and to Mo Suleman - I believe they also enjoyed theirs quite a bit.

I bought 3 808s recently, but haven't tried any of them yet - perhaps I will smoke one this weekend. Sorry you were so disappointed!
Well I always smoke a cigar twice, sometimes you get a better experience the 2nd time around. So Im going to wait a while and try them again. I still have the 808 left and may smoke it tonight.
I thought they were constructed well, no burn issues. But the flavor was not there for me. Really bland. I dunno JB. Im going to blaze the 808 tonight and see how she is.
unfortunately I've given out a few and had the same response - really bland.

Here's to hoping that some age will bring out the flavors in these, would hate to see such great marketing go to waste.
I'll chime in here as one of the persons you gifted an unbanded stick to. I'll repeat the bland taste issue and the poor burn. I'll also add that my stick seemed to burn very hot at the halfway point and the construction was very "soft" in the last third while smoking it. No matter what I did, I couldn't cool the cigar off enough to finish it.

Hopefully, the next one I try will improve. ; )
The one I got from the sampler was ok. I'm hoping someone around here eventually gets the 808. The big ones are usually my faves and what I lean toward they just seem to have a much more fully developed flavor.
yea. So far the only ones I've found at any of our shops were the 213, 702 and the 808. I'll be on about the 808 tonight.
Heh, our shops said they don't intend on getting any of them. Dylan said he'd check into it, lol. The power of twitter.
I was gifted one and have purchased two. I didn't have any burn issues, it's not my favorite Camacho but I thought it was good.
Smoked the 808 tonight..... well half of it! I just think they should have held them a little while. I dunno. Not impressed!
So come to NY and pay $12
$12? I think the 808s were only 10 at De La Concha... perhaps the Senor can confirm me on that, he's probably purchased more than me...

Spicy, bland? Youch. With a name like Spicy, I know you know your flavors. Still, I continue to be amazed at the variability of the taste experience. I found the sample I smoked plenty flavorful.
