With the state of the economy and the impending S-CHIP fiasco on the horizon I felt like asking everyone about their favorite cigar no one has heard of. Before some of these small, regional manufacturers disappear I thought it would be good to spread the word about them, who knows maybe, just maybe, we can keep some of them around.
I have two to list.....First is the Falto, made by one of our own, Luis J. Falto. I had the opportunity to smoke one of these fine cigars the other day, and let me just say....Luis, you nailed it. Flawless construction, herbal with notes of cinnamon and spice on the finish. Just a pleasure to smoke, and one I will continue to smoke.
Second is the San Martin from Tabacalera del Oriente. This cigar is a wonderful Peruvian puro that I just can't get enough of. An earthy smoke that builds in strength as it burns and has one of the cleanest finishes I have had in a cigar.
So, how about it, does anyone else have a favorite regional, obscure or super small-batch cigar they want to share????

My favorite cigar lounge, Velvet, has their own house brand. I believe the tobacco is Dominican. I honestly never smoke them, which I know is kind of sad. I should buy a bunch and send them around to you guys to test them out. Some regulars really like them, while other people don't like them and avoid them like the plague.
There is a little known cigar out there called Don Conti. It's a great dominican blend.
el mejor espresso, chocolate bar of a maduro.
and el mejor emerald , corojo beauty .
I've been reading good things about El Mejor and really need to try some of their stuff.

Another that I love is sold at a B&M about 10 minutes from my house. It's a 6x56 Barber Pole (Maduro and Connecticut, I believe) made by a company called Superior. I did some digging on the net and found a superiorcigar.com, but they don't offer a barber pole style cigar. I don't know if the owner just wants to keep them a secret, so I'll have to keep coming to him for them or if he just doesn't know either. Either way, I still buy from him, I'd just like to get a box at a discounted, internet-only rate.
I have some El Mejor Espressos in my humi that have been resting for about 6 months. A good stick that should be even better now. I believe I may have one this weekend. Thanks for tripping my memory!!
Where can I buy Falto cigars ?

Thanks
If you go to my page Luis has listed a site where they are available.
Thanks for the tip!
A new one to me that I can't get enough of is Viaje. They have two cigars the Oro and the Platinum with a couple sizes of each. Both remind me of Joya De Nic's but with their own uniqueness. Love 'em but never seen em before.
one of my not so known favs are the mayorga madoros. good smoke good price
I found a little cigar a while back and luckily my B&M has started carrying them. The brand is Avalon. They are out of Clarksdale, MS. They market their products with a blues/music tie in. The latest ones are "Juke" series and "HellHound" they are rolled in Miami and then shipped to Mississippi to age in green Pecan wood boxes. It gives it a great woodsy taste that you get sometimes when you grill, or smoke on your BBQ.
Now they sound good!!!!! Thanks Hammer
