Question about a charity event
I am involved with a charity that is holding a golf outing this summer here in Cleveland, Ohio. Many of the people attending the event are business leaders, sports stars/legends and major retailers (just some of the many people that would really enjoy a good cigar). How would I go about contacting a cigar manufacturer or rep to discuss maybe providing some prizes for the event? I know it would be a good opportunity for a company to provide some major cigar smokers with an opportunity to try their products. It would also be a great way to get some buzz as the company name would be included in press releases emails on the web etc.To learn more about the event you can go here http://www.grozacharitygolf.org/ The event gets bigger every year and this will be the biggest yet.

The best way would be to contact the rep, through the manufacturers web page or at a cigar shop. Pitch them your idea, then they'll contact the individual within the company who handles those type things. For Camacho, our Ohio rep is Tom Lazuka, and Angel Diaz is whom you would want to contact within Camacho.

It's very possible that all three of the companies I work with could provide some prizes, and samples. you can get in touch at tlcigars@gmail.com if you'd like. All three are small companies, but are doing what they can to get their name out.

I have hosted 4 very successful benefit raffles the past 4 years. I have found that the big guys like Perdomo, CAO, Torano, Camacho are very approachable regarding donations for benefit events.
But I have also had much success by contacting small or botique cigar companies with the pitch that in return for some items for raffles or distributing to the event participants, a company will gain some exposure by having their goods offered at the event. Word of mouth is the truest form of advertising.

I see that I am too late to get into this summer's event, however, I would love to get involved in any future charity events you may hold.
