To steam or to whip or to froth???? So many options yet only one cup of Java.
Decisions decisions. So what to do? Unlike all the trendy ways to spice up milk, the most popular seems to be steaming. This is a good option for Espresso or Capuccino, but if your just not this updated and really dont understand all the HIPE about steaming milk, it can be soooo frustrating. When I first got into the whole milk steaming thing.....I was ready to go Boy! Little did I know, if you dont get a good pull on the espresso and enough pressure built up, you milk is going to be real flat. So, I did a little research on the web about steaming milk.....I did find a way to foam it on your stove top for those of you who don't own a steamer or espresso machine. Just let me know if you want it and I'll get it to you.
Frothing the milk....
This is a cool way to play with your coffee, not to mention tasty too! These little machines are inexpensive and fun to use. You can get a really good foam going to top off your Joe. I like to add sugar and Vanilla to the milk before I froth it, oooooohhhh, aaaaahhhhhhh it's so good.
Whipping......
This is awesome!!!! You can use your frother to do this also, but it will run down your batteries,LOL. All you need is heavy whipping cream, sugar, and your choice of add-ins.....vanilla, choc. syrup, peanut butter and choc. syrup, marachino cherry juice, coconut milk, ect......let your mind soar. My fav is a black forest capuccino.'
Then you just add all in a tall, plasctic glass and use a hand mixer with one beater. Then think about all the things your significant other did to make you mad and beat the he@@ out of it!!!! Often Taz has come into the kitchen and found me whipping like a mad woman and just asks....Honey, did I make you mad today???? He says I give him a look that came straight out of Psycho and don't answer him. But I'm just fine once I drink my homemade stress reducer...LOL
I hope some of these ideas will get you experimenting with the Java.....
Happy Cupping
