Cigar Social Network

This is a group of "Cigar Enthusiast" from the Frederick County, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. areas, who are seriously entertaining the idea of opening a Private Cigar Club in the Frederick, Maryland area. Members will have 24/7 access via a coded electronic card system.

Members will be able enjoy the luxurious surroundings of a Private Cigar Club. Members will be able to relax and escape the intolerance and militancy of the anti-smoking crowd while fostering the camaraderie of others who share their enthusiasm for fine cigars.

Members can bring their own snacks and beverages. Members will be able to relax over conversation in the Lounge, have a private meeting with a client, surf the internet with WiFi, read a book, catch up on some work, watch television on 42 inch flat screens, and enjoy a game of pool.

The Cigar Lodge is a Private Club, a sanctuary, where people craving the satisfaction and pleasure of a fine cigar can meet in a hassle free environment. Relax, fire up a fine cigar and take in the atmosphere of a very special place. No one is going to bother you at The Cigar Lodge.

Membership levels will be established: (1) Equity Owners-are the individuals who originally invested in the business. Not required to pay a yearly membership fee; (2) Executive Membership-24 hour access, seven days a week, with a yearly membership fee; (3) Associate Membership-Generous access during the week, which encompasses the times members will want to hold business lunches, see sporting events and spin down on weekends, with a yearly membership fee. Non-members who are accompanied by a member will pay a daily fee.

The Maryland Clean Indoor Air Act will not prohibit the opening of The Cigar Lodge if: (1)The Cigar Lodge is closed to the PUBLIC; (2)The Cigar Lodge does not have any EMPLOYEES; (3)The Cigar Lodge does not sale FOOD; (4)The Cigar Lodge does not have an ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE, and does not SERVE Alcoholic Beverages.

Matt - you should put an asterick on #5. :)

that 30-40 minutes can easily turn into an hour or more between 4:30 - 6:30 on a week night. During the summer it will increase another 30 minutes, especially on Friday's.
Ok thats true Eric. Sad but true.
Matt,
I was talking with some folks at Davidus in Urbana this week and this subject came up. My neighbor and I have also been talking about the same thing for some time. Let's talk and get this thing going and make it a reality. I have friends who told me about the private clubs popping up in NJ and elsewhere. There is a wealth of experience out there to draw upon.

Would be great to have members who can help lend their expertise (legal, carpentry, electrical, etc).
just stopping by to see how the DC boys are making it, spring is coming and I'll start taking meetings there again, and just wanted to see what you guys had planned and if I could stop in and hang. How is the plans for lounge coming along Matt?
Thank you very much for asking we had our first offical meeting last week. Members who attended put in 50 each to go towards getting business things off the ground. But we gain new pontentional members everyday and were moving towards a lodge. Please continue to be in touch.
Hi guys,
I'm recent to the site and saw your post....interesting. I have a question about Maryland law. Does Maryland law give any reason/explaination on why a private club can't have employees, sale food or alcohol? I'm just curious as to why there is such a restriction.

until we smoke again,

I live in Baltimore. I'm interested.
