OK, so my buddy said he wants to go see "Watchmen" tonight, which is cool. I had wanted to see it, then once I read people's reactions I lost interest a little bit. But I'm still curious to give it a shot.
I know, Kalutika, that you suggested reading the book, which I still fully intend to do. But even if some of it is confusing, I still like the idea of giving the movie the chance to impress me without any preconceived notions, without having to compare it to the book. If it succeeds on its own, that's cool. If it doesn't, that's on the filmmakers.

I was utterly disappointed. I didn't read the book prior to watching it either, but the trailers depicted Watchmen as an action movie, and I approached it blindly expecting so. I had to watch it in two parts, as it just got tedious after an hour and a half. I usually like epic movies, and have no trouble sitting through a 3-4 hour one if it' good, but the constant waffle and misery in this was off-putting. I can entirely understand how the concepts were cutting edge, 20 years ago. I also get that its not meant to be a superhero movie. But at the end of the day it was just too long with not enough of anything interesting happening.
That was a huge disappointment for me, I read comics so I was excited to hear they were making that, but the acting was so horrible i had to get up and leave. The only bright side was Rorschach...
