went to a cigar dinner at De La Concha the week before last. Jorge Padron was there. They gave out a Family Reserve 44 Natural, 45 Maduro and 46 Maduro during the dinner. Bought a few boxes, had a great meal from Jack's Steakhouse and enjoyed some fabulous smokes. Not sure it gets any better!!!

Now that Padron has jumped on the bandwagon and created a gargantumn 6x60 1964 Anniversary for Smoke Inn, it makes me wonder how limited the four year aged leaf really is. It's alway's been touted as "Limited Production". Does it now cut in to the Padron's production of 1964's for 2011 or are they just not selling as well as the Padron's tell us? I feel fortunate to have smoked at least one of every Padron Anniversary and special release except the Millenium, now there's two Padron cigar's I'll never smoke. A Padron 6x60 to me is like a kick in the ass and a bunch of bandwagon bullshit. I'll continue to smoke the1964's and 1926's as long as their avalable, it may just be me but I like them. We already know the new 2012 Padron will be the Family Blend No.47. How about a 1926 Lancero?

Dang, I mentioned the "round mouth, square cigar" thing during Hoosier Herf. Now people are gonna think I'm Hugh Jass.

Hugh Jass, It depends on the structure of your jaw. If you have a squarish jaw your way ahead of the game. If your jaw is more rounded it could take 33 to 47 days. You can help the process along by eating at White Castle, Wendy's and also placing a square wooden block in your mouth prior to going to going to sleep at night. Be sure if the block has paint on it that it's lead free. A few years back I forgot to mention that to someone and they ended up getting lockjaw from the lead poisoning. Good luck!

" Box-pressed" or "square-pressed" is when the cigars are literally "pressed" into the box so the box pressure creates a perfectly square shape. This was done originally to save shipping space and as a result, the process supposedly causes the cigars to burn longer, giving the smoker a more flavorful smoke. Good examples of box-pressed cigars include, Aspira, Don Tomas Dominican Selection, Padron Anniversary, Perdomo La Tradición, and Sancho Panza, to name a few.
