This is the toughest question for a beer drinker, and one that may change as life goes on, but everybody has a favorite.

I discovered my new favorite recently when I was on a trip to Toronto to visit friends. We ate dinner at the Beer Bistro on King Street in a private room after going to see a hockey game, it was an amazing experience and I got to go through 18 bottles of beer from all over the world that night. If you are ever in Toronto, be sure to stop by the Beer Bistro, http://www.beerbistro.com/.

Anyway, so, being a guy who was born and raised in Missouri, I have an affection for Boulevard beer. My favorite for regular drinking is without a doubt Boulevard Lemon Wheat. I'm also a big fan of Samuel Adam's Chocolate Stout, but that's another story.

I have found something that has taken the crown from Boulevard in my mind:

Samichlaus Bier from Brauerei Schloss Eggenberg

It's a doppelbock, or double bock, and advertises itself as once being the strongest beer in the world. This stuff is sweet, but with a bit of bitter hops undertone, but oh so sweet. It's like nectar. It is definitely strong though, both in flavor and alcohol content.

Funny thing, one of the friends I met in Toronto is German and told me the name translates to Santa Claus Beer. He said according to the story on the back that the beer was brewed only once a year on December 6th to be drank on Christmas of the next year. My bottle was of 2006 vintage, so was fairly young. According to some reviews online, the flavor gets creamier and sweeter (if that's even possible) as the beer ages. It is brewed at Castle Eggenberg in Austria.

So, post your favorite beer, where you discovered it, and some information about it. I'll make an attempt to acquire and try anything you all suggest with time permitting.

I would have to go with Youngs Choclate stout in the can mmmmmmmmmm .
I am a morning beer drinker. I wake up on Saturdays and Sundays and make breakfast, beer in hand. So while i love the dark and hoppy my top 2 beers are:

Red Stripe (Hooray Beer!)
New Castle

One of the reasons is because they both have similar flavors to whiskey and scotch (which is what i drink in the evenings) and they are refreshing enough to go with my bacon and eggs. Because the flavor is similar it makes an easy transition to my 3pm scotch/whiskey and cigar while my little samurai takes a nap.

Great topic!

my fave is regular hoegaarden because it teleports me back to my childhood with the more or less bubble gum tastes (and with the alcohol). lol
I love too many beers to have a favorite, but if I had to choose right now I would say Bourbon Barrel aged Sea monster stout from Ballast Point Brewing co in San Diego. This beer was an imperial stout on Nitro (I say was because this beer is rare). I was at a beer festival in San Diego in 2007 and they had this beer as a taster. When I first took a sip, the flavor bursted of chocolate ice cream (due to the nitro), and then came the slight bite of the malty barrel age taste. This was way too smooth and balanced, especially for a beer at 9.7% in alcohol content. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmm. They have only made this beer 2 times, and you must be VIP to obtain this beer. I am lucky enough to have grown up with a brewer that brews in San Diego. If anyone lives in so cal, I will definitely share the wealth.
My Beer tastes vary. For a Dark German Beer I love "Spaten Optimator"

On the lighter side I have a passion for "Lone Star"

I prefer Coors Bouquet to Coors Light

Still enjoy an Ice Cold Bud Long Neck.
A good cigars goes great with good beer

In today's beer market this question is almost impossible to answer, no sooner do you think you found the perfect beer for you, along comes another home run. My favorite at the moment has to be Titan IPA by the Great Divide Brewing Co., this beer will rock your socks and do not drink even a pint of this if you have any plans on driving. With a great amber color and nice head, this beer offers a variety of nose and taste.
