Well, I still have a lot to learn about Scotch, but I have tried about 15 different types, all from different regions of Scotland, all single malt. I prefer a Single Malt, although I like blends, my taste buds tend to lean toward the single malts. My favorite Scotch's all come from the island of Islay. They just seem to make a strong, smoky, peaty Scotch. As I tend to describe it to my friends who don't care for any sort of whiskey, it's like drinking a camp fire, even with the burn to prove it. My favorite thus far would have to be the 16yr aged Lagavulin, followed by the 10yr Laphroaig, and the Laphroaig Quarter Cask. For my daily, i like a glass of 'Island of Geese', it's not quite as strong as the others, but still has a pronounced flavor. I have recently tried a 21 yr aged Glenlivet aged in Rum Casks. It was very smooth and had a sweet finish, very good for after dinner or even after dessert.

So, enough about my preference, what Scotch(s) do you prefer?

Dalmore Cigar malt for daily consumption, there are too many good single malts out there for me to make a decision of "favorite" ;) - kind of like cigars, it's "what is right for the moment"
AAAaaaaaaa too many flavors, not enough time.... :)
Yes, I agree, sometimes different tastes are suited for different occasions, and I agree, so many flavors and not enough time, but what a wonderful inconvenience it is.
I have always wanted to travel across Scotland and taste the different Scotches from each reigon. Unlike wine tasting, in which cigar smokers are not appreciated (never smoke a cigar prior to, or during a wine tasting ;), Scotch, golf and cigars go together.
I am normally a beer drinker, but before a good steak dinner, there's nothing like a couplr of J & B and water.
Actually, in the summer of 2010, a friend and I are planning a trip to go to Scotland for a couple weeks, so we can do just that. We'll be traveling around, trying new types of Scotch, visiting distilleries, and we'll end at Islay so we can visit our own personal plot of land courtesy of Laphroaig. (when you purchase a bottle, you can go online with a code that comes with it, and you register a 1ft. x 1ft. plot of land on their grounds). I'll also be trying the regional food and beer, and you better believe i'll be taking a travel humidor with me!
I own a wee bit of the Isle of Islay me self!! :)
Welcome to Islay my friend!
Every cigar smoker needs to try La Phroig, it has great peak. However, i have to say, you can't beat a blue label with Cohiba XV.
Day to day: The Balvenie Doublewood

Rolling with the Big Dawgs: Macallan 18

Rolling with "Big Willie": JW Swing - hard to believe that it's a BLEND....
Wayne is correct, too many to select one. For a everyday go to scotch you never go wrong with The McCallen with the 12 year old at under $40. The 18 year old worth the cost. Check out the McCallen Cask Strength. For a personal peak experience, Springbank 15 year old with any of Padron Anniversary line.
I just finished my bottle of Cask Strength, that stuff was delicious and very potent. I might have to buy another bottle soon.
First time I had the cask strength, I didn't realize it was straight from the cask with no water added resulting in a fine 114 proof scotch. I start with a dram and then move to something a bit less potent. If you are a fan of the islay's, you might enjoy the Ardbeg. Very peaty.
