Chivas Tasting in New York City
I got an email yesterday afternoon from my friend Ben Scorah, who runs Beekman Bar & Books, one of NYC's premier cigar bars, inviting me to a tasting conducted at the cigar room of the bar with Colin Scott, Chivas's master blender.
To understate it dramatically, the evening gave me a new appreciation for Chivas specifically and for blended Scotches in general. I will create a blog entry to tell more about the experience, but I am wondering if there are Chivas lovers out there, or people who love other blended Scotches. And in case you're wondering, we tasted Glenlivet 12, Chivas 18 and Chivas Regal 25. And I smoked an Oliva Serie V Double Toro to accompany the tasting.

I think I hate you a little.... That sounds absolutely amazing. I am a fan of scotch but sadly I have never tried Chivas. I have heard wonderful things. I am very jealous that you were able to try their 25 year old offering. Cask aged scotch can be pretty amazing.

The gentleness of it was quite incredible. Keep your eyes and ears open - maybe Colin Scott will make a stop in your neck of the woods!
