Le Clos Jordanne's Claystone Terrace 2005 is receiving all sorts of accolades -- surprising for a Canadian wine. Has anyone tried it? Would you recommend it? I am usually more of a Pinot Grigio girl, myself.

Nonetheless, I tried to find a bottle of the Claystone Terrace at my local LCBO, but no go.

What's your take on cigars and white wine?
Any pairing suggestions?

Thanks!

Its just my personal preference, but if i plan on having a cigar with a glass of wine, i stick to reds. Never had a good experience with pairing whites with a smoke, but I am sure there are some who might think differently than I. Just my opinion.
What is even better than having wine is port ! Port seemingly goes well with any cigar I have had with it!
Agree with burgundy wines with cigars. I prefer to enjoy a medium strength cigar with a glass of Cabernet Franc.
I tend to like the whites myself and consume them all summer long, I enjoy the lighter more natural wrappers and fillers with them. I keep a diary of all my selections and suggest everyone do the same, here is just my top 3.

1. 2006 DeLille Chaleur Blanc ($40) w/ CAO Gold Chrurchill
2. 2005 Kindred Russian River Marsanne Viognier ($45) Perdomo 10yr Champagne Figurado
3. 2007 Pure Evil(when feeling naughty) ($12) El Rey Del Mundo Nat.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do, try a glass, light up and walk the beach...
I was with some friends in Atlanta this weekend and for dinner we had Thia, the wine selection from the ladies was a new one to me and one of the first German whites I've had. This wine was unreal with the spicy food and it will be a cellar staple from here out.

2007 Clean Slate Riesling
(stepped out to local cigar shop for a Butera #1 Cornetta) (I was right)
