Wine Country Itinerary
1.Napa Valley
2.Sonoma County
3.Lake County
4.Mendocino County
5.Southern Oregon

let me know if you have any hidden gems in any of these areas.

Tony,
In Oregon, I recommend two wineries - Elk Cove and Beaux Frieres. Both make excellent Pinot Noir. Of the two, Elk Cove is more tourist friendly (they have a tasting room) but both make some wonderful wines. BTW - If you're in Portland, make sure you have dinner at the Veritable Quandary...and leave room for the warm chocolate souffle.

In Sonoma, try Bonny Doon. This is a funky little winery that makes some hip wines (though not to small you can't find their wines everywhere). They have a modest tasting room and a selection of nice wines. They also happen to make a very nice brandy that pairs well with cigars.

Do you know if they produce any Big Wines, I like the stuff that rocks your socks.
