Carving my New Zealand Jade Tiki

"Sweet. I still have a whale tail pendant, made from NZ Paua shell, that I got when I traveled down there almost 20 years ago. I spent a month, staying in hostels all over the north and south islands. Even cut a record at a small studio in Palmerston…"

Carving my New Zealand Jade Tiki

"Hey Jimbob!  Actually it is NZ Jade, or locally known as Pounamu.  It is incredibly hard stone that was used by natives as axe and chisel blades.  I took a year and lived in NZ with my wife doing some contract work.  I am…"

Profile Information

Asheville, NC
About Me:
A chemist by day, and woodworker by night. In my off time I hand carve cigar labels. Art and cigars are two of my passions, so I figured, why not do both! I am about to marry a wonderful wman who shares my love of cigars (and scotch). Does life get any better?
Favorite Cigar Brand:
Camacho, Padron, Fuente, Nat Sherman, Romeo y Julieta...I usually smoke a new stick over picking an old favorite. Variety is the spice of life.
What cigar accessories do you own?
I am a simple man...a Xicar cutter, two Colibri's, and a few miscellaneous ashtrays lying around the house.
How many box purchases do you make a year?
5 or so.
Did someone invite you to Social Cigar? And if so who?
Dr. Feelgood (Dylan Austin)

Well for that price, and I think it is well worth it for that great art work. I will wait until I build my new home in Prince George and have it done only once without having to move it.

You're very welcome. Yeah, I'd like to get a Gurkha band commissioned at some point when you're freed up, if it isn't too costly. Doesn't have to be huge, just something nice. Let me know as you get closer to the end of May. Thanks!
