Mr. Zagat replied to Tommy boy Martin's discussion About time to start a CigarFest 2011 Thread.
"I know I am probably a little tardy in my request, but if there is a remote chance that anyone has two tickets to sell (any price level), I'd appreciate it. This will be the first Fest I haven't been to in 4 years, if not. I was willing to…"

Profile Information

Hometown:
NYC
About Me:
I am a married law enforcement officer who takes great pleasure in escaping the madness of my job by engaging in the sedentary pastime of herfing a good stick with a snifter of good single malt at the end of the day. I consider myself an Epicurean who delights in the gustatory pleasures of exotic cuisine (no genitals or organ meats please), fine spirits and good conversation with good friends. I believe that the sport of herfing is the great equalizer that transcends the boundaries of race, religion and political orientation.
Favorite Cigar Brand:
Fuente, Macanudo, R&J, Montecristo, Rocky Patel Vinatge1990 and 1992, Nat Sherman Metropolitans, CAO's and anything offered by knowledgeable herfers. Accompanied by a Peter Luger porterhouse and a good single malt.
What cigar accessories do you own?
2 Spanish cedar lined mahogany humidors, 1 crappy Thompson travel humidor, many cutters including single, double guillotine and v cut types and an arsenal of various lighters.
How many box purchases do you make a year?
Several

Good luck with your finagling! (great word, btw) I would say to bring your spouse and the other couple to Cigar Inn with you - but I know not everyone has the passion for cigars that we do.

Well howdy neighbor! Of course it's been many years since I left Perth Amboy, and I hardly know what is going on there these days, but I do go home to visit my parents a few times a year (not as much as I should, since they are getting old). When I lived on Staten Island, I shared an apartment in a Victorian house on Van Duzer Street in Stapleton. But I loved getting to the Southern tip of the Island when I could, to prowl around in the woods looking at abandoned cemeteries and that kind of thing. There's a fellow Justin E on here who lives in Tottenville and hangs out a lot at a cigar shop near Port Richmond. I still have friends who live in your borough - we should definitely get together and share some S.I. stories and such. And even if you miss the big opening party this weekend, definitely pay a visit to Cigar Inn on 2nd avenue when you can - it is worth the trip!

Welcome to Social Cigar, Mr. Zagat. I went to college on Staten Island at Wagner, and lived there for several years thereafter. I hope you have fun here, and look forward to running into you not only here in the chatroom and such, but also perhaps at one of the many cigar events around NYC! I saw you might not make it to the Cigar Inn opening party, which will be too bad, but there are lots of other things going on I am sure!
