Saturday Night Date

My husband and I are spending some time at Joey D's sala de fuma cigar bar in Latrobe tonight. He is smoking a Liga Privada and I am enjoying a CAO extreme.

I have never tried a CAO extreme and am pleasantly surprised. It has a rich toasty and nutty flavor without being overwhelming. Hints of cedar add an interesting taste to this overall medium bodied smoke.

We love coming to Joey D's. If you are in Latrobe, check it out. They are having a cigar taster Wednesday feb 16.… Continue

Xmas Vacation 2010-11, part one

I know I told a lot of folks that I was going away for the Holidays, so I thought it might be fun to tell you a little about where we went and what transpired.

So basically, Therese and I went to Naples, FL to spend Christmas with her parents, who live there, and then we spent a week vacationing in Miami, returning to New York City on January 1st.

We flew in Naples on Wednesday, December 22nd and Therese's parents, Sam and Eileen, picked us up at the airport…

A drive and a Gran Habano Gran Reserva

This past weekend my wife and I took the weekend to get away. I took with me some Gran Habano Gran Reserva cigars anxious to review them. They are beautiful cigars in a cedar wrap with 2008 on the band denoting the year it was rolled. Nice oily look to it and good feel to the stick. During the drive I torched one of…

A Christmas tree and a Oliveros Swag

Tonight my family decided it was time to put up the Christmas tree, so I went to storage and got the tree and all the boxes of lights, ornaments and everything else that goes with it and piled it all in the living room. My wife had made our favorite spiced tea and the next few hours were much fun. As she set about…

On the deck with a CAO LX2

After dinner last night and helping my lovely wife do dishes (yes I do), I went to my humidor looking for a item to end the day with. I chose a CAO LX2 Gordo, now I enjoy the LX2 and the Gordo is one masive stick. Freeing from…

A horse and a Perdomo Patriarh Maduro

Last weekend when we had somewhat decent temperatures I phoned a friend of mine that lives a mile from me. He has a horse that I helped him raise named Whizzer who is one of the tamest horses you could ever know. Asking if it was alright, I wanted to take Whizzer for a ride that afternoon,… Continue
