Cigar Social Network

I was on the road last week. I always try to find local shops and give them some of my money in exchange of some of their fine cigars. So, part of my blog will be a review of the shops, and part of the cigars if I can remember correctly.
Shop 1. I went into the East End Cigar Co around N. Myrtle Beach. If this is your local hangout- forgive me, but it was horrible. I will not even review the cigar that I smoked that day, because it was in such bad condition, along with my buddies cigar, that Joya De Nicaragua cannot be held responsible. The store had a poor selection, the conditions were not very good and the maintenance of the cigars was well below par. For a cigar "bar" it was dissapointing.
Shop 2. Nick's Cigar World- N.Myrtle. Great Shop, Great Selection and a good environment. I did not actually smoke there, but I did buy a few cigars from them. One Edge Maduro, and another Saint Luis Rey, Serie G Maduro. Both were gifts to buddy. He enjoyed them. I really liked that shop. It was basically one GIANT humidor. I understand there is more than one Nick's down there... I would be curious to see if they were all this nice. I highly recommend stopping in.
Shop 3. The Tinder Box at Barefoot Landing. Beautiful shop with good selection and pretty great prices actually. I found a nice big CAO Criollo and smoked it in their lounge area. They were very accommodating and and social. We had the lounge area to ourselves actually. Nice couches, nice decor, and plenty of reading material. The only thing that would have made it better was if they sold sodas or waters, or something. The Criollo was great. It did have a small plug in the first 1/4, but after that was cleared out- it was a great smoke. I have always been a fan of this cigar, but I have rarely found this large torpedo size.
My Treat. I finally smoked a Camacho Triple Maduro. I have been waiting for the perfect occasion and buddies to share it with, and last week was it. I was expecting a hugely overpowering cigar, but honestly- it was not super strong to me. It was incredibly smooth (hence the $13 pricetag), and completely enjoyable. The first half was great, but the second half was perfect. I cannot even describe how much I enjoyed that cigar. It did remind me of a smoother version of my goto Edge Maduro though. The ash held on so well, that honestly, I only had to tap it twice during the entire smoke. The first ash/foot/whatever lasted well past half the length of the cigar, and that was without me being incredibly gentle with it. I strongly recommend a toke on this cigar.

Update- Our local Tobacco Merchant is coming along GREAT! Stop in around lunch and you may bump into me.
God Bless!
