Cigar Social Network

Amazingly, attempted to buy online cigarfest 2010 tickets...got thru to their shopping cart on three seperate occasions... and it refused to show tickets purchased. After an hour, then the status was "sold out" and amazingly, there were 1000 tickets available on cigar auction...owned by Cigars International also...not 10 or 20 but 1000...and that part of their website had no problem...

So needless to say, won't be purchasing anything from Cigars International after this scam, too bad too, was a customer of theirs for years now..am so disappointed in their greed.

While clearly the IT system was overloaded the 1,000 auction "Cigar Nut" tickets was always part of the stated plan. The website and emails clearly stated that there were 3 ways to get tickets (store, web, phone) I got thru after 10 minutes of calling. We always get the $100 3:00 in ticket. Still get all of our cigars. No Scam!!

Exactly my point Walt, and the same experience, so, I got my shipment from Thompsons, not bad at all, I also visited Satin Jacks in Lafayette NJ, great store, great time, he is very knowlegdable about cigars. And I now go there because the Sidebar in Morristown's management decided to go smoke free, closing one of the last venues for smoking in the area.

Not only did i lose a whole nights sleep trying to buy tickets, but the web site would not let me! I go every year, and it's all wait for all year round. So i put my bid in as a last hope. CI tells me that they do this for the customers, and yet you keep advertising the advent after all the tickets are sold just to keep driving the price up rather than just accommodate the consumer. It comes down to how much you can spend for the advent rather then how much you spent all year being a loyal customer.

Vito, Thompson has a bunch of their house brands which in most peoples eyes are not good. The other deals they have are usually beat by CI or Famous. I guess you could consider Thompson's "your fathers cigar store"

Thanks Johnlongisland ,Are they not that good? I just tried a trial order from them, will wait and see what happens, seemed like the usual cigar good package deal, I will let you know.

Vito,
And I'm sure everyone on the board will agree, stay away from Thompson's.

I understand, but I refuse to pay more for a ticket due to their incompetence, I am just taking my business to famous cigar shop and thompsons, it is what it is, appreciate your thoughts tho John...

John - cool, great that C-Fest gives you that opportunity to form new bonds with fellow B/SOTLs from all over. I guess that's why I'm underwhelmed by it - with all the other events and chances to meet people I hear about through Social Cigar and other sources, there's no need for me to get up before 5am and speed-dial and/or jump through any other hoops.

Tommy, it's cool that you have your system and are in-the-know for C-Fest. But for the rest of us who don't know the first thing about finding out who is monitoring whatever mailing list you're talking about, reading what you just said is just one more confirmation of how many hoops one has to jump through in order to get a bloody ticket! To which I say, not worth my time or effort.
