Reports of MMK's death are slightly exaggerated!

I will admit, I am sad that MMK finally has quit Social Cigar.  But he's been teetering on leaving for more than a year.  It got to the point where, when I heard something about him getting in a fracas with somebody and threatening to leave, my reaction was "oh, that again?"  And it's not as if the guy has died.  Not by a long shot...

Another thing going on here for more than a year has been this yearning for the good old days, whatever that was.  I am relatively new to phenomena like Social Cigar, but my guess is the turnover in membership being a constant, it is near impossible to keep things the way they were at any given moment.  So this nostalgia for the past is, in my view, pointless and counterproductive.  The good thing is, the site is still here.  And some of us who have been putting a good of time on it for more than the last year may still occasionally have something to contribute.

As for me, my life has changed dramatically recently.  My girlfriend who I have been dating for a little more than a year invited me to move in with her.  Around the same time, by sort of mutual consent, I began the process of leaving the legal work I've been doing for 18 years and trying to find a way into a new industry.  I certainly have some time on my hands these days, but unlike in the past when I would spend idle moments checking in with the good people of Social Cigar, now it usually doesn't occur to me.  If anything, I check in with folks on Facebook.

So if you don't see me too often, it's not a judgment against SC.  And it's not that I don't care about what's going on here.  It's an indication that perhaps real life has become interesting enough that I don't have the inclination to go looking for something else in the cyberworld.

But hopefully, you will still see me from time to time...
