In my group The Lady Tobacconist which is me. I suggest always taking an extra cigar not for yourself but because you just never know who you might run into.

Like so.... I have been crushing on this football player since I saw him play in college. Any way a few nights ago I'm out on a patio smoking my cigar and I hear, "Mmmm that smells nice", and this tall man walks by. As he walked by proceeding to get his car from the valet I said "Thank you very much" but to the back of him, he turned to say your welcome and Hello. It's my crush! So he comes back and asks how long I 'd been smoking cigars and I told him a little bit longer than I'VE OWNED MY STORE. And the conversation and friendship begins. Hours later..........

I suggest making it an average smoke, they appeal to a wider group. Make sure you have a good cutter and lighter, and conversation to bring with it. Nothing worse than a boring or pompus cigar smoker. If they end up preferring a stronger stick or another you have a second meeting. This has been successful for me in business on the course, at social engagements. And we all know how cigars have enhanced our personal friendships.
Most importantly be a good ambasador of the cigar. Always be a socially gracious smoker.

HAS YOUR CIGAR AFFORDED YOU THE PLEASURE OF MEETING SOMEONE SPECIAL?

Gotta run,
Hugs,
DeeDee

I took a couple of fine cigars with me to Beverly Hills, specifically, "The Grove" a nice, outdoor shopping center. I thought, outdoors=cigar for me!

Moments after coming out of the parking garage, i recognize Elliot Gould. I have two cigars, so I approach him and say, " Mr. Gould, I'd like to give you a cigar!"

He asked if I owned a cigar shop there, I said "No, just wanted to enjoy a fine cigar on a day like this".

He chose the MC Media Noche and we chatted for a couple minutes. very nice guy! His characters on the screen usually smoke cigars, so I figured he liked them. My hunch was right, and it was a great experience.

WoooHooo Tim, Elliott Gould wow. He has done so many great movies and shows. Sounds like he was appreciative of your kindess and gesture. I know I would be.

Did you ask him if he wanted or had time to smoke or were you fine handing him a cigar. Dude, you know he told his bros about that, I can here him now. He gave me something and asked for nothing. Soooooooooo doesn't happen in Beverly Hills area.

Dee Dee, I agree. First, I usually don't run into very many regular cigar smokers, but I do, on occasion run into someone that enjoys a fine handmade.
There are a lot of "occasional" smokers, and for the most part there are a lot of reasons that they aren't "regular" smokers. Some people don't have access to a good cigar or they don't know how to maintain cigars, I think they get a little intimidated when the pay several dollars for a single stick.
That is when it is nice to "turn them on" to a good smoke. and say CHEERS!

My travel humidor goes with me everywhere I go. I like having a selection to choose from, being able to trade, and most of all, turning people on to cigars they have never tried before. On Tuesday night's Everyone at our table comes with a large selection of there own personal stash. Most of the guys carry 30 count TH's that are stocked full! The cool thing is that all of us can tell you of a first time cigar that we've had thanks to someone else at that table. Limited cigars, Cuban cigars, catalog cigars, new releases, obscure brands. If one of us get's our hands on it, we all get to try it.
Can I get an Amen!

AMEN !!!! I am always up for trying a great cigar,no matter how cheap the price tag is on it.Some think that a good cigar has to cost an arm and a leg.If only they would look around, they might find that there are so many GREAT smokes for less than $5 a stick

Dang you’re good.

Everybody thinks because I have a store I smoke expensive cigars and I very well could but I domn't like most of them. Oddly I find some of the more expensive cigars taste like dirt (Not Jonathan's dirt, but real dirt) or cardboard. Ya doesn't work for me. I like the spicy nutty, woody flavors.

The cigar I’m on right now is a 5.98 in my store and I love it.

When I moved to Cincy from Chicago it was the events at TPS that helped me meet new friends. A good cigar can also work to your favor in keeping the nagging people away from you.

I always have a 15 count travel Humi typically full of various stogies when Im out to smoke cigars. A few months ago when our Tuesday night event was canceled My 15 count got hit hard. I passed them out to those who arrived and didn't have a cigar to enjoy. It always comes back around sooner or later.

And DD If I lived in SoCal I would gladly pay a visit to see ya! ( I just would be afraid I would fall in love with ya!)
