Hello from the Seoul Cigar Aficionado Society (SCAS). Dylan Austin asked that we post up an intro so here we are. We are a cigar club that's focused on growing Korea's developing cigar culture. We always welcome new members and those passing through Korea that enjoy a good cigar. You can find out more about us by going to our blog: http://seoulcigaraficionadosociety.blogspot.com/. Thanks for the warm welcome and we look forward to having some fun with Social Cigar.
Funny you should ask. "Hola" is about the only thing I retained from High School Spanish classes. :) Thanks for the welcome. We are excited to have some fun getting to know the Social Cigar community. BTW, going to the RTDA/IPCPR show this year?
LOL! I know it was Spanish for 'hello'. I just thought I would ask for the reasons of comedic value. :-D
Unfortunately I was not one of the chosen three when the winners of the Social Cigar Top Dogs Contest were announced. But I am the first Runner-Up in the contest and if one of the three can't make it, I'll be waiting to take up the torch.
As much as I would love to attend, I am not "in the industry" and can't attend for that reason. If you aren't in the industry, you are pretty much out of luck. Even if I were invited and could get a pass to the actual event...I have been invited several times before, I would have to cover the cost of airfare, lodging and meals. I have no discretionary income to be able to cover those costs. And not being in the business, I can't write them off as a business expense.
I have been fortunate enough to have been able to meet some of the bigest names in the business since becoming a Cigar Enthusionado. And I would absolutely LOVE to attend the IPCPR. It has been a dream ever since I first heard about it.
I hear ya. I've been dreaming about my own cigar shop for ages. Final the chance came and I jumped on it. But you sure are right! Flying from Seoul and staying in a hotel in Vegas ain't cheap! Man, I'm gonna have to sell some cigars for this one!!!
You know it man! Great to have some company here in Asia. If you ever get to visit Seoul, drop me a line and we'll smoke a couple of stogies. I'll do the same next time I go to Japan.
