International "Smoke a Cigar" Day - JUNE 7, 2008
There will be no flyers this year, or logo, as we had our graphic's individuals flake out on us at the most crucial time.
At this juncture please feel free to pass the word and let all those that ask be told that this is going to become an annual event, held on the first Saturday of June.
There will be more information coming throughout the year - we just didn't have enough time this first go-round to make it as snazzy as I would have liked.

I think DeeDee taking the initiative to market through stores is a great idea. The same could be true of cigar bars and lounges. I see the owners of the two places I frequent in NYC, Velvet Cigar Lounge and Hudson Bar & Books, all the time and I could bring it up with them and see if they want to get involved. I don't see how they wouldn't though; but they might want to see that they're not the only ones doing it. Once they could go to online vendors websites and places like that and see "celebrate National Cigar Day..." I bet they would totally promote it, maybe even have a special event for the day.
As was mentioned by DeeDee and others, it's a little soon to make it big this year, but we could get the word out a little. Maybe we need a poll to decide what date to have it - (a) June 1st/1st Sun. in June; (b) the day before Father's Day; (c) Christian's birthday (or his father's b'day); (d) some other day.
I'm planning on attending another "Women, Power and Cigars" event at Renaissance Cigar Emporium on May 21st, and if I have a name of someone to contact about the new holiday, I can give that info. to the event planner there, Anita Brown, since she will be attending that event I bet.
