Well, damn.

So the one and only local "mom & pop" tobacco shop that's been around for decades is now closing the store and going to mail-order only. I stopped in today to pick up a cigar and noticed the sign. I talked to one of the owners about it and they didn't seem to confident in the mail-order strategy. The only place left (besides the whack 7/11 cigars) is a cigar/hooka/beer lounge that is strictly 21+!! That in itself pisses me off because I'm 20. And live in America. Basically, I've got no choic… Continue

Metallica;Napster ramblings...

I just posted this on a you tube video. I'm sick to the Nth degree with these ignorant, simple-mided, un-educated 12 year-olds babbling on about "Metallica sucks" this and "screw Lars" that....... [Ya knoooooow, I usually get a kick out of un-educated people who still, to this day, swear on the whole Napster ordeal. It wasn't good, ever. Someone got the notion that stealing music was somehow legal. Wrong. Period. Metallica has done everything you will never do with that shit attitude...and more… Continue

Beautiful day out; First blog.

I woke this Saturday morning knowing the first thing I did, even before making my pot of coffee, was make a beeline for my cigar jar. I decided to try out one of a sampler I recently purchased...I picked up a Rocky Patel Connecticut. This was definitely a cool and creamy smoke almost all the way to the nub. My next smoke will probably end up being this Camancho 1962...looks promising....

I started session work in High School, mostly playing bass and programming drum machines. I got some familiarity with the studio environment, and in live soudn when I was singing with Punk bands. I went into the USAF after I graduated, did 4.5 years as an audio tech/engineer in the military, then got out. I then went to a school called Full Sail, in Orlando, Florida. They had all the latest outboard gear, big consoles, etc.

I had a blast, got an album's worth of my own material tracked and mixed, and they hired me to teach labs after I graduated. So I freelanced in the local studios, while teaching at the school, and tracking and mixing my own stuff.

Then I moved to Nebraska. It's a long story, but I've been working in public broadcasting for ten years now.

I've been in the business for 20 years, but I'm doing broadcasting now. I got married, had kids, and so family life doesn't jive with doing recording sessions until 5 a.m. anymore.

I never did anything super big, mostly demos for bands, small label acts, etc. I did engineer a New Edition remix in the mid- '90s, but other than that, nothing major.
