Hey man, don't let 'em razzle you, they can be a rough crowd. All you need to do is say one of the key phrases and you'll be accepted: "needs more cowbell!" or "LUMBO!" or "did somebody say _____________ (insert favorite naughty word)?" Seriously though, I know some people get a little obnoxious. Or they ignore what I'm saying, which I also find annoying. You have to have a bit of a thick skin. Or just be a little nervy. Well, if I'm there and you join in the chat you can be sure you'll have at least one friend.
